Brian and I talk about gear and what camera bags work best for a variety of photographic subjects. We cover everything from wildlife, hiking, street, to even landscape photography. We talk about bags, brands, sizes, and configurations for a best fit.
Guys, why not consider a photographers vest as the carry case for hiking, street strolling etc. Generally holds two extra lenses, filters, shutter release, etc. and then have a shoulder(s) for a tripod.

You are are right, we did overlook the vest. But to add some value to your comment, the best place I have found for a vest is http://vestedinterest.com/. These folks will custom build your vest with pockets sized by you. They are the go to guys for nature photographers and videographers alike. Obviously you can find vests by Tamrac and others that also work. Even "Big Pockets" while designed for bird watchers works for photographers and they are very light. Sorry we overlooked this important way of carrying gear. Thanks for the reminder!
